The two story, double garage conversion shown here, was designed to maximise space whilst providing a practical and comfortable living area. The conversion consisted of the front door leading to the stairs with a long hallway to a kitchen (eventually) area and under-stairs cupboard space. The stairs lead to an open plan room with ensuit shower, toilet and hand basin. The main front window also acts as a fire escape should the need arise. Hot water is supplied by an under sink water heater with a large enough capacity to fill a sink, whilst being small enough for efficient use.
With the work being carried out to current building regulations, the conversion was fully insulated and fitted with linked mains smoke alarms.
Upstairs, the stair well wall was designed to be removed to aid furniture removal while still retaining strength when in place.
